Toronto Marathon Information
Boston Qualifier! The Marathon begins behind Mel Lastman Square on Beecroft Ave. Participants run north to Park Home Ave, East to Yonge, and South on Yonge to Chaplin Cres. West on Chaplin to Oriole Parkway. South on Oriole Parkway to Lonsdale Rd. West on Lonsdale to Spadina Rd. South on Spadina Rd. around Casa Loma to MacPherson. East on MacPherson to Davenport Rd. and continue to Belmont St. East on Belmont through Yonge St. to Aylmer Ave. South on Aylmer to Rosedale Valley Rd. to Bayview Ave. South to King St. to Sumach St. to Eastern Ave. West on Eastern Ave to Front St and follow to Wellington St. and continue to University Ave. Turn South on University to York St through to Queen's Quay. West on Queen's Quay past Stadium Rd. to the Martin Goodman Trail. Past Stadium Road to Remembrance Drive to Aquatic Drive to just East of the Humber River where it turns around and heads East back towards Queens Quay. Follow trail back to York St. and then North on University to the finish line at Queen's Park.
Aid stations will be supplied with Cedar Springs Water and Gatorade. There will be 21 Aid Stations along the route each supported by medical personnel. PowerBar PowerGels will be available at the 25km and 36km aid stations for the marathon only. Split times will be called at the 1 mile mark. The course will be marked every kilometre, as well as every 5 miles. All events will be timed using the ChampionChip timing system.
9:00 am - Start at Mel Lastman Square Sorry, no in-line skates, roller-skates, bicycles, strollers or dogs will be allowed on the course.
For the safety of all participants, we strongly recommend you do not wear iPods, walkmans, or similar devices which inhibit your ability to hear surrounding sounds.
In an effort to minimize traffic congestion and for public safety; we do not permit walkers in the Marathon due to time restrictions set by the City of Toronto, Public Transit, Police and Emergency service's. We require that all participants in the Marathon maintain a 12 minute per mile pace and may be asked to move on to the sidewalk and obey normal traffic laws if running slower than a 12 minute per mile pace. Those of you who can run faster.....please feel free to do so.
EXPO The Toronto Marathon Expo is FREE and open to the public during registration/kit pick-up at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, 123 Queen Street West. ALL participants, including RELAY TEAMS must attend the expo to pick-up their Race Kits which include a shirt, bib, chip, final instructions, and product samples from our sponsors. The hours are: Friday - 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All competitors are invited to our pasta dinner / runners' workshop on Saturday, October 18th, 6 p.m. at the Toronto Hilton located at 145 Richmond Street West. Cost is $25.00 for participants and guests. Please be sure to check box on the entry form.
Only a limited number of tickets are available! Please buy your tickets early and avoid the disappointment of missing this all you can eat pasta feast.
